TAAP – Theater Arts Apprenticeship Program

The Theater Arts Apprenticeship Program (TAAP) is for students interested in working hands-on as backstage apprentices with theater professionals on YMTC’s fully mounted productions. Open to students in grades 7 – university.
Apprentices are paired with professional theater artists who provide mentorship and training in their specialized field. If accepted, applicants are offered a novice, intermediate, or advanced apprenticeship within a department of the Theater Arts. Apprenticeships are offered on a rolling basis.
We welcome students of all levels (7th grade – university) to apply, regardless of previous experience. Whether you are a seasoned student of the theater and are getting ready to launch into a career, or just starting out and interested in seeing whether theater is for you, this is an excellent opportunity for all!
